'Air India' comes as savior: Daily flights from Coimbatore to Delhi and Mumbai
Coimbatore: Air traffic at Coimbatore International Airport has been severely affected due to the second wave of coronavirus infection. Only five or six flights are operated daily. There are daily flights from Coimbatore to cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Only Air India and Indigo are providing the service. In addition, some flights operated by Indigo continue to be canceled. Currently, Air India operates daily flights to Mumbai and Delhi only without cancellation.
The number of daily flights dropped to five in May last year due to the first wave of the disease. The number of daily flights at Coimbatore International Airport has dropped by five in May this year amid a second wave of rapid spread.
