Vaccination halted at primary health centers in Kinathukadavu this past week due to shortage of Covid-19 vaccine
Coimbatore: To curb the fast-spreading nature of the second wave of Covid-19 in Tamil Nadu, people over 18 years of age are also being vaccinated now against Covid-19 at Government hospitals and primary health centers, as an initiative on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Government. However, due to the shortage of Covid vaccines in Tamil Nadu, the vaccination drives have been suspended at Nallattipalayam, Sokkanur, Vadachittur Primary Health Centers and Government Hospitals in Kinathukadavu area of Coimbatore district.
As of Saturday last week, 4,558 people had been vaccinated against Covid-19 in the Kinathukadavu area and vaccination has been suspended for six days thereafter due to shortage of the Covid vaccine. Hence, those who had arrived at the centers to be vaccinated for their first and second doses respectively had to return disappointed.
With more people falling prey to Covid-19 infections and the death toll rising in Coimbatore district, shortage of Covid vaccines at a time like this has caused panic among the people.
