Munian (65) hails from Divansaputhur near Pollachi and was the Chairman of the Divansaputhur Panchayat, and won the last rural local body election. He was admitted to the Pollachi Government Hospital due to Covid-19 infection, a few days ago. Doctors stated that Munian died on Thursday since his condition did not improve. Locals in the area grieved on hearing that their panchayat leader had passed away due to Covid-19.
