Hospitals are overflowing with patients due to the increasing spread of corona in Tamil Nadu. In addition, the beds in the public and private hospitals are well equipped with oxygen beds.
Meanwhile, there is a risk of oxygen shortage in Tamil Nadu. In this situation, the Tamil Nadu government took action to get oxygen from various states. According to it, oxygen was brought from West Bengal to Chennai by train on the 14th.
Subsequently, oxygen brought in by train from other states daily was sent to districts at risk of shortage. Meanwhile, a 29.24 metric tonne liquid medical oxygen train loaded in 3 tankers from Odisha arrived at Coimbatore railway station at 1.56 am.
Following this, the oxygen tanker trucks were unloaded in the presence of Coimbatore District Revenue Officer Ramathurai Murugan. It was sent to an oxygen production plant in Ganapati with heavy police security.
Also, after the oxygen loads are unloaded, it is sent to the Sulur military air base. Following this, the oxygen loads are to be sent back to Odisha or other states by military plane.
