Check posts set up to control crowds in Valparai
Coimbatore: With Covid-19 spreading rapidly across tea plantation areas in Valparai, in Coimbatore district, special medical camps to test those with fever and cold are being conducted on behalf of the Primary Health Center.
It is reported that through these camps, over a 100 Covid-19 cases were identified. It has been found that Valparai is at a high risk of an increase in Covid-19 spread due to overcrowding.

The Revenue Department has set up check posts at Stanmore Road, Nallakathu Bridge, Nadumalai Bridge and Puthuthottam to control crowds in Valparai.

At these checkpoints, police interrogate all those who wish to cross the check posts and ascertain if they have stepped out of their homes unnecessarily. Only those who need to perform essential tasks are being allowed.
