ESI Hospital management says that the total 1030 beds will have oxygen supply

Coimbatore ESI Government Hospital management has said that the hospital which currently has 830 beds will be upgraded to 1030 beds and all beds will soon be provided with oxygen supply.
The number of Covid-19 infections is increasing day by day in Coimbatore district. More than 3,000 people per day tests positive for Covid-19.
In Coimbatore district, more than 1,15,000 people have been affected by Covid-19 infection so far. At the same time, the death toll is rising as the impact of the second wave is intensifying. More than 100 people have been killed in the last 10 days alone.
As the number Covid-19 cases increase, all the hospitals in Coimbatore are overflowing with patients. There is a shortage of oxygen beds as the number of people admitted to hospitals due to suffocation has increased.
Due to this all the beds with oxygen facility in Coimbatore ESI Hospital are in full condition. Due to the delay in treating the newly arrived patients, the health department and the district administration are planning to provide additional bed facilities.
According to Dr Ravi Kumar, Medical Superintendent, 'ESI Hospital, 88 lakh liter of oxygen is supplied to patients from the 11 KL capacity oxygen tank at the ESI Government Hospital.
Around 180 oxygen generators of various capacities, including machines which supply 100 liters of oxygen per minute, have been installed on the hospital premises and oxygen has been provided to 407 beds out of a capacity of 830 beds.'
He said an additional 200 beds would be added to the existing 830 beds and the 1030-bed facility would be upgraded soon and all oxygen beds would be fitted with oxygen generators by the end of this week.
He further said that the work will be completed soon as it is supervised by ESI Medical College Hospital Dean Dr Raveendran and District Collector Nagarajan.
