District police makes provision for Covid-infected police personnel to isolate in lodges in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Police officials awaiting Covid-19 test results but suffering from symptoms are being isolated at lodges in the city. The District police have made this facility available for their forces to ensure they are well cared for amidst the second wave of Covid-19 which has swept across Coimbatore district.
With police personnel engaged in ensuring public adhere to Covid-19 regulations and lockdown, it is reported that many police personnel have contracted Covid-19 and been admitted to hospitals. Those with Covid-19 symptoms are awaiting their test results. Private lodges in isolated areas with 10-bed facilities have been set up for accommodating infected police personnel to ensure their families are not affected.
Coimbatore Rural SP, Selvanagaratnam said, “Awareness is constantly being created for all police personnel to be vigilant. They have been provided with necessary masks, sanitizer and gloves. All police stations are provided with pulse oximeters and thermal scanners. Seven lodges in isolated areas have been provided by the district police for those officials who are infected."
