Coimbatore: Wild animals like Tigers, Elephants, Leopards, Monkeys, Deer, Indian Gaur and Bears are often seen in the forest areas of Anamalai Tiger Reserve in Valparai, Coimbatore. To protect and safeguard the animals, TamilNadu forest department has created a separate unit to tackle the clash between wildlife and humans.
Meanwhile, a male Indian Gaur was found mysteriously dead near the Muthumudi Tea Estate near Vagamalai in the Manampalli Forest Range. A tea estate worker found the dead bison which had its back half eaten by other wildlife.
After complaining about this to the management, the forest officials were informed about this mysterious death of a Bison. Forest department officials are now investigating the case. Wildlife and social activists are concerned about this issue as a lot of wild animals have list their lives recently.
