Heavy rains damage two houses in Valparai
Coimbatore: Valparai in Coimbatore district has been receiving heavy rains for the last few days. This has led to landslides and trees being uprooted in many places. Two houses were damaged when the compound wall collapsed on Sunday evening in Anna Nagar, Valparai. The rest rooms behind Sivakumar Lakshmanan's house were also damaged due to the wall collapse.
Since most of the possessions in the houses were damaged, the residents were evacuated immediately. Valparai Tahsildhar Raja visited the spot and conducted an investigation. He said that it was the heavy rains in Valparai that had been causing landslides and led to the compound wall collapse. The Tahsildar also asked people to move to safer places,
