First installment of Covid-19 relief distributed in Valparai by DMK functionaries

Coimbatore: The first phase of the Rs. 4,000 subsidy announced by the Tamil Nadu government as a Covid-19 prevention measure was given by the DMK executives at the Valparai Ration shops today.

Ho'nble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin in his election manifesto announced that 'Covid-19' relief of Rs 4000 will be given to the public. Later he announced that the first installment of the subsidy will be distributed immediately.

With the second wave of Covid-19 rising on a daily basis, the Tamil Nadu government has imposed a full curfew from the 10th to the 24th of Mayto prevent the spread of the Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister MK Stalin launched the subsidy scheme. There are 48 Ration Shops in Valparai, Coimbatore with around 17,663 rice card holders in the area.

As a part of the first installment, tokens were distributed to the families by Ration Shops and the relief amount of Rs 2000 was distributed from today.

DMK town secretary Palpandi todaydistributed the relief funds at the ration shops in 8th, 9th and 10th wards in Valparai.

Bhaskar, District Finance Team Co Organiser, District Deputy Secretary Senthil, Vadai Shop Kutti, Manigandan, Jayaraman, Venkatesh Ponnusamy and other DMK representatives took part in the event.
