Due to this, Parthiban has now appealed to the National Commission for the Underprivileged.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Corporation has rejected the voluntary retirement petition of Parthiban, who was an aide to former TamilNadu Home Minister SP Velumani.
AIADMK MLA SP Velumani, who was the Home Minister during the tenure of the AIADMK rule was assisted by Assistant Engineer Parthiban on behalf of the Coimbatore Corporation.
A few years ago, he was relieved of his assistant duty due to a heart attack. Parthiban, who underwent surgery, went to his hometown for treatment. There he had another heart attack and received treatment.
Thinking he could not continue working for himself, he applied for voluntary retirement and applied to the Coimbatore Corporation. The application was rejected by the Corporation administration, claiming that he could apply for voluntary retirement only after he rejoins the service post his leave.
Due to this, Parthiban has now appealed to the National Commission for the Underprivileged. In his place, Saravanan, a young engineer who was appointed as an assistant, was recently 'suspended' for the crime of having lakhs of rupees during the election.
