Muslims celebrate Ramzan in Pollachi by adhering strictly to social distancing norms
Coimbatore: Ramzan which is considered to be the most important festival for the Islamic people was celebrated all across the country today.
All mosques in Tamil Nadu have been closed due to the devastating effect of the second wave of Covid-19.
Due to this, Muslims had to perform simple special prayers in their homes and invited only their close family members in areas like Kumaran Nagar, Kannappan Nagar and Nehru Nagar, which are mostly populated by the Muslim community, in Pollachi. The prayers and fellowship among the Muslim community strictly adhered to social distancing.
The Muslim community also offered prayers for the Covid-19 virus to be completely eradicated from India. "Usually we offer prayers at the mosque and not being able to join together and pray at the mosques definitely hurts but in this situation it is better to pray in a simple way," opined members of the Muslim community.
