Revenue officials sealed five shops in Pollachi; Rs. 2.89 lakhs collected thus far for violating curfew restrictions
Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Government had announced a part-time curfew across districts with new Covid-19 safety restrictions until May 24, since the Covid-19 situation in the State is turning critical.
In this scenario, authorities in each district are using stringent measures to keep people at home. But public are still violating Covid-19 regulations and roaming freely on the roads without wearing masks. Shops that are not allowed to remain open are continuing to be operational in violation of restrictions imposed by the Government.
To monitor this, Revenue Department officials have set up flying squads of nine teams from 8 am to 2 pm and nine teams from 2 pm to 9 pm in different areas like Pollachi, Kinathukadavu, Valparai and Anamalai which are under the Pollachi Revenue Division. Revenue officials say that a fine of Rs. 2.89 lakhs has been collected thus far for violating Covid-19 regulations. Five shops have also been sealed for violating curfew guidelines. Authorities have warned that further action will be taken against those continuing such violations.
