Coimbatore: The government has imposed a curfew in Tamil Nadu as coronavirus infections are on the rise. Shops selling essential items are allowed to be open only until 12 noon.
Sub Inspector Chandrasekaran, led by Inspector Omprakash of the Gomangalam Police Station near Pollachi in the Coimbatore district, along with police and revenue officials stopped motorists and asked them to pledge and adhere to disease control rules to create awareness among motorists violating the complete lockdown on Udumalai Road.
They also warned that action would be taken on the orders of the district collector if they walked out unnecessarily in violation of the curfew.
