Oxygen tank worth Rs. 27 lakhs donated to ESI Hospital in Coimbatore by various gold jewellery associations and clubs

The donated oxygen tank is expected to fully function in two days.



Coimbatore: With Covid-19 cases spiking day by day in Coimbatore district and the need for oxygen ever rising, good samaritans from the various jewellery associations have come forward to donate for construction of an oxygen tank at Coimbatore ESI Hospital.



The oxygen tank which costs Rs. 27 lakhs was donated on behalf of the Coimbatore Gold Jewellers Association to provide oxygen to the patients. The oxygen tank is expected to be fully operational in two days.

Coimbatore Gold Jewellery Manufacturers Association's President, Muthu Venkatram said, “Oxygen demand is increasing day by day with the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic affecting more and more people. On behalf of the Coimbatore Gold Jewellery Association, Gold Jewellery Manufacturers Association, Gold Bullion Association (Coimbatore), Round Table and Vasavi Club Five Star, it was decided to set up an oxygen tank at the Coimbatore Government Hospital. Coimbatore Jewellers Association President Sabarinath and Coimbatore Gold Bullion Association Secretary Karthik took forward the proposal and Hence we began the work to set up an oxygen tank at a budget of Rs. 27 lakhs which is expected to be completed within two days,".

"Also on behalf of the Coimbatore Gold Jewellers Association, Coimbatore Jewellery Manufacturers Association, and Coimbatore Bullion association, 2,000 PPE kits, 3,000 face shields and medicines were given to the Coimbatore Government Hospital and ESI Hospital. Helping the public during such a distressing time has given us satisfaction. The Gold Jewellers Association is planning to contribute further in the near future," added the President of the Coimbatore Jewellers Association.
