Herds of bisons are spotted in large numbers near Bandishola owing to roads being deserted without traffic, tourists and trekkers.

But locals in Bandishola area near Coonoor-Kotagiri road have been in a state of panic as they continue to spot herds of wild bisons roaming freely in their residential neighbourhood.
On Wednesday, another bison was seen roaming near residential areas as well as on the empty roads, before moving into the Forest Dale area. Locals in the area have requested forest officials to take immediate serious action to combat the menace of bisons in residential areas in Nilgiris district.
