1 lakh people were affected and 89,070 people were cured of Covid-19 in Coimbatore thus far
Coimbatore: In Coimbatore district, the number of victims owing to Covid-19 has crossed one lakh. On Tuesday alone, 2,650 people were affected. The number of infected people in the district has risen to 1,00,363. The number of people who have returned home after receiving treatment thus far is 89,070.
1,722 recovered and returned home on Tuesday while 19 people succumbed to the virus. At Government and private hospitals in Coimbatore, 8,361 people are being treated. Of this, 4,303 patients were from other districts. On Tuesday alone, 1,909 people were vaccinated. Thus far, 3,88,290 people have been vaccinated in the district.
On Tuesday, 10,003 people and thus far 12,36,220 people have undergone Covid-19 testing in the district. A fine of Rs. 1,32,000 has also been imposed on the public for violating Covid-19 prevention measures. Coimbatore District Collector, Nagarajan stated that 9,797 beds are available at the Government and private hospitals in Coimbatore
