Woman slips into a water tank at home and dies tragically in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: A woman who went to check the level of drinking water in the tank outside her home, slipped into the tank and died tragically.
Sampath who hails from Vellalore Road, Coimbatore was served lunch by his wife Chitrakala (59) who stepped out later to check the level of water in their water tank that stored drinking water in front of the house. When Sampath realised that his wife had not returned even after half an hour, he went out to check on Chitrakala.
To his shock, Sampath saw Chitrakala in the 8 ft water tank. She was then rescued with the help of nearby residents and rushed to the Coimbatore Government Hospital. The doctor who examined Chitrakala certified that she was brought dead to the hospital. Podanur police have registered a case and are investigating
