City Police hosts 'Know your police’ an awareness session for school students

Aimed at creating awareness about the functioning of police personnel, our City police are conducting a programme called ‘Know Your Police’. Every week, school students from various government schools are been invited to the Commissioner Office to make them understand the real-time functioning of the police officials on a day-to-day basis. Live demonstrations of control room, traffic monitoring systems will be explained to the students by the concerned department officials.

As part of the programme, today, Kuruchi Government Higher Secondary School students visited the Coimbatore Police Commissioner’s office. The students visited the various departments functioning in the Commissioner office premise.

An interactive session was also planned for the students with the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Coimbatore, S. Saravanan. During this interaction, he encouraged the students to become a part of National Cadet Corps (NCC) or scouts in schools and colleges. He also advised the students to be as socially responsible citizens apart from their regular school routine.

When asked if how many of the students would like to pursue their career in joining police force, many of students raised their hands and expressed their interest towards taking up 'Police' as their career.

They also raised some interesting and innocent doubts and questions for which the Deputy Commissioner saravanan answered patiently and also motivated them to stay strong and reach great heights.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the session which was definitely an eye-opener for them. One of the student, while talking to us stated that,'It was a great opportunity for us to see the Commissioner Office in real-time and to interact with all senior officials'.
