Coimbatore Airport leads by example in Covid-19 prevention: Less than 10 people infected in the last one year

The Coimbatore International Airport is leading by example in Covid-19 safety in the past one year

Coimbatore: Even as the second wave of Covid-19 has been sweeping across Coimbatore District, less than 10 people have been infected at the Coimbatore International Airport, which has been staffed by over thousands of people for the past one year.

One of the main reasons behind containing Covid-19 spread is Coimbatore Airport's strict measures and mandatory following of all necessary guidelines.

The Coimbatore International Airport is a huge boon to the people of the city as well as people of seven districts surrounding it. The Airport Authority employs over 1,000 people including Airports Authority of India officials, staff, Central Industrial Security Force officers, military officers and airline staff.

Due to the spread of Covid-19, the Central and State Governments have been enforcing Covid-19 safety protocols for more than a year. To date, less than a dozen people at the Coimbatore International Airport have been infected and they too are reportedly recovering quickly due to following these guidelines in the best possible way.

Coimbatore Airport sources say, "Guidelines are being strictly followed at Coimbatore International Airport. Violators are fined and severely monitored. Everybody abides by the rules no matter what the rank of the official. In a place where there are 1000 people who work, less than 10 people have been infected in the last one year and have returned to work now after recovery.

The Coimbatore Airport is undoubtedly a role model in controlling the spread of Covid infection in a place where a large number of employees work. Mandatory and complete support by everyone is the reason behind it,'' added the airport sources.
