Coimbatore: A complete lockdown has been declared by the Tamil Nadu Government to control the second wave of Covid-19 in Valparai, Coimbatore district.
Shops selling essentials like groceries, vegetables, milk and medicines have been allowed to remain open and parcels are also being delivered from tea shops and restaurants. Buses, autos and taxis are also not plying.
But with tea plantation being the main source of livelihood in Valparai for many thousands of workers, spraying medicines and manure in tea estates are underway in full swing with workers wearing masks and adhering to social distancing while working.
