Tirupur: A review meeting with all departmental officials on Covid-19 prevention activities in Tirupur district was held in the presence of District Collector Vijayakarthikeyan.
Gopal, Special Officer-in-Charge for Tirupur District and Principal Secretary to Government, attended the meeting and held consultations with officials. He later spoke to reporters in Tirupur. He said "Covid-19 prevention activities in the district are being studied. Today after the inspections at various places, it is revealed that the Tirupur district administration is doing well in preventing Covid-19.

In particular, steps have been taken to establish 782 oxygen beds in the district and an additional 250 oxygen beds. In addition, 169 ICU beds are ready. A further 109 ventilator beds are also kept ready.

Around 1,50,000 people across the district have been vaccinated against Covid-19. As the full curfew is to be implemented from tomorrow to 24th May, District Collector will make announcement at 6pm tonight regarding the functioning of Banian companies in Tirupur."
