India’s Cumulative Vaccination Coverage exceeds 16.73 Crore as the Nationwide Vaccination Drive expands: More than 14.8 Lakh beneficiaries of age group 18-44 Vaccinated under Phase-3 of Vaccination Drive
Coimbatore: With the growing number of Covid-19 cases in the second wave of the pandemic, the central government is ensuring that the assistance provided by the international community is properly allocated and distributed to the states and union territories. So far 2933 oxygen concentrators, 2429 oxygen cylinders, 13 oxygen production equipment, 2951 artificial respirators and about 3 lakh bottles of Remdesivir have been distributed.
The total number of Covid-19 vaccines so far vaccinated in India has crossed 16.73 crore today. The first dose of Covid vaccine has been given to 14,88,528 beneficiaries aged 18-44 in 30 states and Union Territories including Tamil Nadu (10,703). As of 7 a.m. today, 16,73,46,544 vaccines had been vaccinated in 24,37,299 camps across the country, according to a preliminary report.
About 23 lakh vaccines have been given in the last 24 hours. On the 112th day of the vaccination program (May 7, 2021) 22,97,257 vaccines were administered. The first dose was given to 9,87,909 beneficiaries and the second dose to 13,09,348 beneficiaries in 18,692 camps. A total of 1,79,30,960 people have been reported to have recovered from the Covid pandemic in India so far today.
3,18,609 people were healed in the last 24 hours. Of these, 71.93 per cent were from 10 states. More than 30 crore experiments have been done in our country so far. In the last 24 hours, 4,01,078 new infections have been reported in the country. Of this, 70.77 percent occurred in 10 states. The highest number of cases were in Maharashtra at 54,022, followed by Karnataka at 48,781 and Kerala at 38,460.
The number of patients currently receiving treatment in India has increased to 37,23,446. Of this, 80.68 per cent was reported in 12 states. The national death toll has dropped to 1.09 percent. There have been 4,187 fatalities in the last 24 hours. 77.29 per cent of the victims were from 10 states. No casualties were reported in the last 24 hours in Damon Diu and Dadra Nagar Haveli, Mizoram and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
