People throng market places in Coimbatore ahead of complete lockdown: People throng 293 Tasmac outlets across the city
Coimbatore: A complete lockdown has been imposed across Tamil Nadu from the May 10th to the 24thto control the spread of coronavirus. In response, crowds roamed the shops in Coimbatore, including grocery stores and vegetable stalls. Crowds at Tasmac stores have also increased.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has said that a full curfew will be imposed from May 10th to the 24thto prevent the spread of coronavirus in Tamil Nadu. In it, private offices, government and private buses, large-scale shops, shopping malls, etc. are not allowed to operate. However, small shops such as grocery stores, meat shops and vegetable shops are allowed to operate only till 12 noon. Todayand tomorrowall shops are allowed to stay open till 9pm.
Meanwhile, crowds flocked to the grocery stores in the Range Gowder street to buy household items. Similarly, markets, vegetable and meat shops were also overcrowded. Similarly, there are a total of 293 Tasmac stores operating in Coimbatore district with 158 Tasmac stores in the north and 135 stores in the south. People were seen crowding in all these outlets too.
