Coimbatore: Vijayalakshmi Guhan, Makkal Needhi Maiam's District Women's Secretary has followed Dr. R Mahendran's suit, to exit from the party.
In her resignation letter Vijayalakshmi Guhan said, "Unlike other parties, I believed that MNM will be a good change in Tamil Nadu. I joined this party as a member. In the by-elections, my family and children worked together in the field with great enthusiasm. We had love in our hearts for our leader to take the party on the path of progress. Right from the day of joining the party, senior officials in the party showed indirect opposition. I realised the Senior District Secretary was prejudiced toward new joinees. Even after complaining about this to the State Women's Wing Secretary, Mookambika, no action was taken. Also, the word honesty exists only in speech. Discrimination is shown to those who work honestly without any expectation," she added.
'Dr. Mahendran, who was in charge of the party for three years as the party's Vice President was branded a traitor for pointing out the shortcomings. We are no match as we are still in the normal postings. Management should rectify mistakes if identified, but branding them as traitors is an embarrassment. Such incidents will affect the credibility of the party. The State Women's Wing Secretary, Mookambika has no rights to accuse Dr. R Mahendran as she did not take any action regarding our complaints even from the perspective of being a woman. I am resigning from the party's official posting and its primary membership after being disappointed,' stated Vijayalakshmi Guhan.
