"I am proud to have worked really hard to sit on the seat which had been graced by the presence of great leaders like Annadurai and Karunanidhi," said an emotional M K Stalin.
Coimbatore: The new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin turned emotional in a statement that he released saying, "The people of Tamil Nadu have given us an exceptional verdict.
The public has willingly given the DMK party which had ruled the State earlier five times an opportunity to run for the sixth term and that too with a majority. I am proud to have worked really hard to sit on the seat which has been graced by the presence of great leaders like Annadurai and Karunanidhi.
I was really worried about not being able to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu in Chennai in the presence of party members who toiled behind this victory. I had planned to organize the swearing-in ceremony in front of the party members who are the real heroes behind this victory, before the commencement of elections.
But with the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is nearly impossible and unjust to gather for a huge celebration. That is why I took charge as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu today at 9 am in the Governor's residence by directly facing party members who were watching it from their homes.
It is the hard work of every DMK member that has made us achieve this success. The wishes of party members will make us proud. We all work together to bring social equality, responsibility and a great Tamil Nadu," concluded the new CM of Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin.
