Coimbatore: The Covid-19 pandemic has been sweeping across Tamil Nadu and cases have been spiking in Pollachi and its surrounding areas too.
"About 35 people in Pollachi town tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday with 20 people from the Northern Union area. 18 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the Southern Union adding to a total number of 73 Covid-19 positive cases in Pollachi. Another 29 Covid-19 cases were recorded in Anamalai, totalling to 102 cases. Infected areas are being isolated and actively monitored by the Health Department," stated Health Department officials.
Officials have advised the public to be vigilant to prevent the spread of the virus. All shops are closed in the area due to part-time curfew. Though there has been a decline in the movement of people in support of the safety protocols, the number of Covid-19 victims in Pollachi is on the rise.
