Pollachi-based doctor R Mahendran who was Makkal Needhi Maiam's Vice President resigned from the party on Thursday, stating that there was no change in Kamal Haasan's attitude after the defeat of the party in the Assembly elections.
Following this, MNM's Coimbatore South District Secretary Mayura Subramanian addressed the media in Pollachi on Friday saying, "Kamal Haasan did not seem to embrace party executives. He does not give importance to party members like he does to agencies. We thought he would change after the elections, but has not changed. if Dr. R Mahendran, who brought the MNM party to people from all walks of life by spending his own money for the party and serving the people in the Kongu region gets this kind of treatment, I realised what would happen to ordinary executives. Therefore, following his resignation, I also quit," he stated.
Along with him, several executives of MNM including Satish Kumar, the District Treasurer and candidate for the Pollachi Assembly Constituency from MNM resigned.
