'Party Members across Tamil Nadu are happily celebrating the exit of VP Mahendran' says MNM Agriculture Team Secretary Mayilsamy in Coimbatore

MNM party's Women's Wing Secretary Mookambika said that it was wrong for Mahendran to publish party affairs as a 12-page statement rather than just withdrawing from the party.

Coimbatore: Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) officials have blamed Kamal Haasan's defeat in the Coimbatore South constituency on Mahendran leaving the party and said the party leadership would soon announce his task.

Mayilsamy, Makkal Needhi Maiam'sState Agriculture's Secretary and Mookambika Makkal Needhi Maiam's State Women's Wing Secretary today met with the media at the Coimbatore Press Club office in Avinashi Road, Coimbatore.

Mayilsamy who addressed the gathering first, said " Party Members across Tamil Nadu are happily celebrating the departure of Vice President Mahendran. Kamal Haasan was made to stand in the Coimbatore South Constituency and was planned and defeated by Mahendran.

He used the party members to work for him in Singanallur without letting them to work for Kamal Hassan. Mahendran was acting alone as a corporate entity, I was made to campaign in Palladam constituency with only 6 party representatives ." said Agriculture Team Secretary Mayilsamy.

Following this, MNM Women's Wing Secretary Mookambika spoke and said, " Mahendran did not campaign for Kamal Haasan in the South constituency of Coimbatore where he contested, Mahendran sometimes even interfered with Kamal Haasan's campaigns.

Candidates were shifted in key constituencies of Thondamuthur, Pollachi and Mettupalayam due to Mahendran's intervention. This was his task and he has successfully succeeded it. Mahendran had completed the task given to him.

I had come to politics following the Pollachi sexual harassment issue. Mahendran is the reason behind me not getting the opportunity to conduct in the Pollachi Constituency, for an opportunity lost by Mettupalayam candidate and the one who is conducting in the Thondamuthur Constituency.

Makkal Needhi Maiam's main representatives have not quit and they had issued resignation letters as the party is about to make changes in the structure of the party." She said.

Mookambika also said that it was wrong for Mahendran to publish party affairs as a 12-page statement rather than just withdrawing from the party and said "The party will soon reveal what his real task was soon." She said
