Around 50 families from the city's Perumal Kovil Road protested with slogans demanding to be allowed to travel to work.
Coimbatore: With the second wave of Covid-19 sweeping across Coimbatore in increasing measure with every passing day, a resident on Perumal Kovil Road area near Kuppusamy Hospital in Coimbatore, tested positive on Monday.
Following this, the Corporation administration cordoned off the area with a barricade just next to the house. People from over 50 houses who live in the neighbourhood, got ready to go to work as usual. Discovering that the area had been cordoned off, residents realised that it was not possible to walk or exit even on two wheelers.

Hence, the residents protested in the area raising slogans to emphasize their demand to remove the barricade so that they could follow their daily work routines.
