A college student commits suicide in Coimbatore after being depressed for a long period of time over online classes and being unable to visit college to meet friends
Coimbatore: A college student committed suicide after being depressed for a long period of time over attending online classes and being unable to visit college and meet friends.
Police officials revealed that Rajan who hailed from GV Residency in Sowripalayam,Coimbatore had a daughter named Sneha who was a student at a private college in Coimbatore.
Since Sneha like all college goers could not attend college in person owing to the Covid-19 pandemic and had to study online, it is reported that Sneha was sinking into depression since she was unable to go to college and be with her friends.
Sneha reportedly committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan, leaving her parents completely shocked at her decision to end her life.
Singanallur police are investigating the case.
