The bodies of two women were found on April 28th in the Amravati main canal in the Udumalai area of Tirupur district.

The case was investigated by Kaniyur police as a murder as the dead women had marks and was found naked. Further during the investigation it was revealed that the women were Kokilamani (45) from Indira Nagar, Udumalaipet and Keerthi (35) from SV Puram near Kozhumam Road.
A series of investigations by the police have arrested two men Kulandhaisamy from Kuruchikottai and Kallimanthaiyam Kumar, who were involved in the murder of two women and dumped them in a ditch. Following this, the two persons involved in the murder were produced before the Madathukulam Criminal Arbitration Court and remanded in custody.
