1,557 police officers cast their postal votes in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: In Coimbatore district, 1,557 policemen who are beefing up security in the city cast their postal ballots, on Friday. Four special voter registration centers have been set up in Coimbatore district to enable the District Police to cast their postal votes.
The policemen on election duty registered their postal ballots at the polling stations from 8 am to 7 pm on Friday. Tickets were issued to 2,953 city and district police officers to register their postal votes.
Yesterday's polling was recorded by 1,757 policemen, 847 by the city police and 708 by the district police. 52.72 percent voting was recorded.
