Coimbatore:The Coimbatore Court has sentenced a youth to 10 years in prison and Rs.21 lakhs fine for scamming 16 people.
Prakash (38) and his brother Mahesh (36) are from Karuppan Chettipalayam, Perundurai in Erode. Both of them were involved in growing country chicken. To make profits, they introduced extensive schemes to attract people.
To make profits, Siraj (60) from Karamadai, Coimbatore signed up for this scheme but he did not get his money back. Following this, Siraj filed a complaint with the crime branch police who caught the two brothers and investigated them.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the brothers have scammed Rs 40.56 lakhs from 16 people. In a consumer welfare case filed against them, Judge Ravi sentenced the main accused Prakash to 10 years in prison and a fine of Rs 21 lakhs in Coimbatore.
