Coimbatore: Coimbatore North DMK candidate Vadavalli VM Shanmugasundaram campaigned for votes under the 'Rising Sun' symbol at the Vadavalli bus stand today.
While campaigning in Thiruvalluvar Nagar, PNR Nagar and other areas, VM Shanmugasundaram said, " I don't need to be told my name by someone. I am competing under 'The Rising Sun' and there is no one here who does not know it. Some people are making random comments for the minimum amount they are getting. I have given in my election nomination about the value of my inherited property and I have not risen to power recently."
VM Shanmugasundaram also said, "There has been talking that Vadavalli has been given fifty years of growth in five years. They have only added property for their five generations. So this regime must end. I am one of you and I ask you to vote for me on the Rising Sun symbol to win by a large margin."

At the campaign today, he was accompanied by DMK members Kuppuswamy, Duraisamy, Deivam Mahalakshmi, Rasa, Velusamy, Tamilmarai, Rajkumar, Jayasuriya and members of the Communist and Congress party.
