AIADMK Coimbatore North candidate Amman K Arjunan also accused DMK of their illegal land acquisitions, increased panchayats if they come to power.

Coimbatore: AIADMK Coimbatore North candidate Amman K Arjunan resumed his campaigns in the areas like Gandhimanagar, Kongu Nagar in Coimbatore yesterday.

Amman K Arjunan, who is contesting as the AIADMK candidate for the North Constituency in Coimbatore, suffered from a recent leg injury while partaking in campaigning. Today, he was seen back on track after a day's rest, to gather support for the 'Two leaf' symbol.

While campaigning from an open jeep, Amman K Arjunan accused DMK of their illegal land acquisitions and warned about increased panchayats if they come to power. "It was during the DMK rule that land grabs were extremely high. Later Amma came to power to stop them, she filed an order of prosecution of the land grabbers. A large number of land grab cases have been registered against the DMK. Do not let them come to power," he added.

Amman K Arjunan also emphasized the power shortage issue that prevailed during the DMK regime from 2006 to 2011.

Talking about his plans for Coimbatore North, he said, "During the ADMK rule, we ensured to provide quality tarred roads and installed street lights. In addition, people have requested for a rainwater drainage plan and parks to be set up. Once we secure power in Coimbatore, I promise that a new park with a yoga training center will be set up on an area of two acres. So, help us support the continuation of welfare programs."

During the campaign, Area Secretary Natarajan and executives Vendamarai, Balu, Commander Senthil, Papaya Rajesh Ashok and other party executives were present.
