This incident took place to condemn the slandering remarks made by A Raja on CM Edappadi Palanisamy.
Tirupur: DMK's Deputy General Secretary A Raja had recently made a demeaning remark regarding the birth of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.
The AIADMK members and the public including women organisations across the state have shown opposition to A Raja's speech. Especially after CM Edappadi Palaniswami's emotional address from yesterday's campaign in Thiruvotriyur, many people have been protesting against the DMK leader.

To criticise A Raja's speech, some of the AIADMK members set fire to his effigy at the four-lane junction in Tirupur Gandhi Nagar near Anupparpalayam police station in Tirupur District.
AIADMK Deputy District Secretary John, J Peravai Secretary Radhakrishnan and other members took part in the event and chanted slogans condemning A Raja and DMK leader MK Stalin.
