District Collector Nagarajan holds consultative meeting with election monitoring officials
Coimbatore: A consultative meeting was held on Sunday, chaired by District Collector, Nagarajan on the calculation of candidates' expenses and new ways to do so.
The District Collector consulted with election observers on the accurate calculation of election expenses of Coimbatore candidates. The Election Commission has appointed seven IPS and seven IAS officers as election officials, two IRS officers as expenditure observers and two IPS officers as police observers to monitor the election process in Coimbatore district.
At the consultative meeting, the activities of the Flying Squad officers, complaint registration in civil, training class for election officers and postal voting were discussed. Methods to calculate the candidates' campaign expenses and collection of details regarding election irregularities cases, appointment of monitoring officers and ensuring fitting of surveillance cameras were also discussed.
The meeting was attended by Police Commissioner Davidson Deva Asirvatham, SP Arularasu, District Revenue Officer Ramaduraimurugan and Constituency Election Officers.
