BJP's Vanathi Srinivasan is contesting against MNM party President Kamal Haasan in Coimbatore South.
Coimbatore: Union Minister Smriti Irani in her campaign yesterday challenged MNM party President Kamal Haasan for a debate with BJP candidate Vanathi Srinivasan stating that only a debate can prove the administrative skills of the candidates.
In a press release issued on behalf of Makkal Needhi Maiam party it said "We accept the challenge. But first our leader Kamal Haasan is ready to debate with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, then with the Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and then with the subsequent BJP cabinet ministers before debating with Vanathi Srinivasan who is a 'thukkada' in the party.
We will let Hon'ble Central Minister Smriti Irani to arrange for a direct discussion with the Prime Minister.
Vanathi Srinivasan, who has already contested two elections and was rejected by the people, is now preparing to lose for the third time. Our student team is enough to debate with her who has no administrative skills."
