Kamal Haasan meets 'Vishwakarma' Association; promises to hone the skills of Coimbatore Craftsman through Skill Development Centres

Coimbatore: Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) Party President, Kamal Haasan and candidate for South Constituency on Saturday met the members of ‘Vishwakarma Association'.
The members who gave a warm welcome to the MNM President handed over a list of grievances and appealed to resolve them.
During an interaction, Kamal Haasan emphasised on the need to create skill development centre to hone the skills of Coimbatore artisans. In awe with the city's unique craftsmanship in jewelery making, Kamal Haasan told that Coimbatore is one among the notable gold jewellery manufacturing hubs in India, renowned for making intricate master pieces of jewelry and in diamond cutting.
Kamal Haasan who assured to address their long-pending demands including betterment of income and employment, said the need of skill centres specified in MNM's manifesto intents to resolve such issues faced by various sectors.
Briefing on the importance of establishing skill development centres to hone the skills of craftsman and thus increase income through better craftsmanship, Kamal Haasan added "The skill development centres are a step forward in imparting skills to meet the skilled manpower requirement of the industry. Thus, enabling them to explore better job and entrepreneurship opportunities."
The state-of-the-art centres will generate skilled craftsman and technicians from Coimbatore. Additionally, a welfare association for the jewelry industry in Coimbatore will be set by MNM, promised Kamal Haasan.
Heads and members of ‘Vishwakarma Association’ assured their support to Kamal Haasan who willl be facing off with BJP's Vanathi Srinivasan and Mayura Jayakumar of Congress in the hotly regardedCoimbatore's South Constituency.
