Smriti Irani challenges Kamal Haasan for debate with BJP candidate Vanathi Srinivasan

Coimbatore: As the campaigns picked up pace ahead of the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, women volunteers from BJP marched with a two-wheeler rally to support BJP candidate Vanathi Srinivasan, who is contesting from Coimbatore South constituency.

The North Indian women from BJP who took part in the rally chanted in Tamil, "Podungamma ottu thamaraiya paathu" and asked for support in the elections.

Soon after, BJP Union Minister Smriti Irani took part in the campaign to support the Vanathi Srinivasan. They were spotted in the Theppakulam area of the Coimbatore South constituency.

Smriti Irani also campaigned in a two-wheeler at the rally seeking support.

Speaking at the gathering, BJP candidate Vanathi Srinivasan said, "We have been doing everything we can to help women in the region through self-help groups even before the election process began. I am helping 100 girls who lost their father in their education and more than 2000 women have benefited from this constituency alone under the 'Selvamagal thittam.' If I succeed, I will implement more welfare schemes that benefit women."

She also stressed the fact that BJP does not follow family politics. Vanathi added, "BJP is the only party that gives position to women in their family. It is because the party gives equal opportunity to all women that an ordinary woman like me has been able to become the leader of the national women's wing."

Following her, Union Minister Smriti Irani concluded the campaign and travelled in an auto to attend the Holi celebrations at the Gujarat Samaj Bhavan. She addressed the people at Gujarat Samaj Bhavan in support of BJP's Coimbatore South constituency candidate Vanathi Srinivasan. She called on the North Indians to vote for the party in the coming assembly elections.

Smriti Irani said, "Voting is not only a duty, but it is also a sacred act and by voting, you Improve the lives of the poor. Goddess of Wealth sits on a lotus flower and not on a torchlight so vote for BJP."

Smriti Irani took a bold move and challenged Kamal Haasan through her speech. She called for Kamal Haasan to take part in a direct debate against BJP candidate Vanathi Srinivasan on the problems of the people, the policies of the party and the solutions to the problems. She said that this will reveal the administrative capacity of the candidate to govern.

Smriti Irani also questioned whether Kamal Haasan was ready to discuss onthe projects and the services rendered to the people.
