DMK presents unique election manifesto for Thondamuthur Constituency

Karthikeya Sivasenapathy, the MLA candidate for Thondamuthur Assembly Constituency in Coimbatore presented a special election manifesto for his constituency.



Coimbatore: Karthikeya Sivasenapathy, the MLA candidate for Thondamuthur Assembly Constituency along with other DMK officials launched a special election manifesto for Thondamuthur constituency at the party office in Coimbatore today.

Many secial water management plans were mentioned in the DMK manifesto. It included:

- scientific improvements that would not affect the ecology of the Noyyal River

- a ban on the concrete base near pond areas and

- the cancellation of an agreement with the Suez Company to privatize water supply which was made under the AIADMK regime.

The DMK party has also promised to take steps to prevent untreated wastewater from entering Coimbatore's main water sources such as Ukkadam Periyakulam, Kurichi Pond, Selva Sinthamani Pond and Muthannan Pond and, to divert the Siruvani Dam to pave the way for drinking water.

For agricultural and rural development in the constituency,

- a large number of farmers markets will be set up

- cold storage facilities will also be set-up which is a long-standing demand of the farmers of Thondamuthur Constituency

- Agricultural tourism will be encouraged.

The manifesto also consisted of plans to propose renovation of tourist sites like Coimbatore Courtallam and Vaitheki Falls with parks, playgrounds and to construct gyms.

The DMK manifesto mentioned that special attention will be paid to the area of Karumbukadai which needs development and to rehabilitate the drainage system. Many grievance offices would be opened in areas like Thondamuthur, RS Puram and Karumbukadai in order to end the people's problems soon.



Speaking at the gathering, Karthikeya Sivasenapathy said that he would use scientific methods to rectify the problems faced by farmers and also promised to get proper funding for damages caused by wild animals. He then assured to the people that he will be a representative who can be easily be approached by people for help.

The ideas to upgrade the primary health centre at Alandur with a 50-bedded hospital to provide easy access to medical care to the people at the foothills of Vellingiri was also mentioned. The manifesto also seeks to provide Home Patta for people belonging to scheduled castes and tribal groups.

DMK Candidate Karthikeya Sivasenapathy vowed to strive to uphold fundamental rights, social justice and secularism for everyone.
