TN Elections 2021: Rs. 52 crore worth of jewellery and cash confiscated in Coimbatore to date.
Coimbatore: It has been reported that Rs 52 crore worth of cash and jewellery have been confiscated across the Coimbatore district since the announcement of the poll date. In the Coimbatore district, cash, gold and silver worth Rs 52 crore were seized to date.
To conduct free and fair elections, flying squads and surveillance teams are engaged in vehicle inspections across 10 assembly constituencies in Coimbatore.
Along with this, Rs. 4 crore and 6 lakh rupees in cash has been confiscated till last evening. Liquor worth Rs. 61 lakh, gold and silver worth Rs. 47.90 crore have also been seized by the officials.
The officials have said that the total value of the seized goods is Rs. 52.76 crores. After the submission of the relevant documents, the money, along with other items, will be released to its owners.
