Intelligence department should not favour any party: Commissioner orders at the meeting
Coimbatore: A consultative meeting with the intelligence department was held yesterday at the Coimbatore Police Commissioner's office. At the meeting, Commissioner Davidson Devasirvadham issued an order that the intelligence department should not support any party.
Davidson Devasirvadham took charge as the Coimbatore Police Commissioner yesterday. Soon after, he held consultations with the intelligence department officers and instructed that the intelligence department should not walk in support of any political party. The Commissioner also advised that the intelligence department must find and give information about giving money to voters and inform the higher authorities.
In Coimbatore City Police, there are 35 police stations with 15 Law and Order stations, 3 women stations and two traffic investigators. For administrative reasons, the City Police is divided into 4 areas namely East, West, Central and South. An Assistant Commissioner and 4 Inspectors are usually sent for night patrol.
Yesterday, Police Commissioner Davidson has ordered the appointment of another assistant commissioner for night patrol. Plans are being drafted to increase night patrol teams to prevent crimes across the city.
