District Collector orders action against 1,444 persons who did not attend election training classes in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: As the 2021 TN Assembly polls are scheduled to be held in Coimbatore on April 6, the election training classes for government employees and teachers are being conducted across the city.
Coimbatore District Collector S Nagarajan has ordered to take action against 1,444 government officials and teachers who did not attend these training classes.
In Coimbatore district, 21,256 people are to be involved in the election works from 10 assembly constituencies on April 6, 2021.
Despite the order sent across to the government employees and teachers to attend the training for the electoral process, 1444 people did not show up for the classes. This is 6.85 per cent of the total number.
It is informed that 148 people in Mettupalayam, 146 people in Sulur, 227 people in Kavundampalayam, 147 people in Coimbatore North, 155 people in Thondamuthur, 74 people in Coimbatore South, 133 people in Singanallur, 182 people in Kinathukadavu, 103 people in Pollachi and 129 people in Valparai did not attend election training classes.
District Collector S Nagarajan has ordered the employees who did not attend the classes to provide explanations for their absence. He has also stated that if the government employees and teachers do not take part in the election training classes before the due date, further action will be taken per the People's Representation Act.
