Due to the hike in the prices of raw material required for manufacturing cardboard boxes, the livelihood of various manufacturers involved in the production of cardboard boxes has been severely affected.
Tirupur:
Tirupur which is home to a large number of textile industries exports its finished textile products in cardboard boxes. Owing to the hike in prices of raw material required for manufacturing these cardboard boxes, the livelihood of various manufacturers involved in this production has been severely affected.

To draw attention to their plight, the cardboard box manufacturers have decided to go on a two-day strike over the weekend. They lamented that the hike in prices had severely affected their production and their livelihood, especially since the price of paper had gone up by 85 percent, since last September.
The protestors have requested the Central government to take action to control the export of paper and organize a steady flow of paper stock to be sold domestically.
