Coimbatore Railway DSP transferred under recommendation of Election Commission
Coimbatore: Ahead of the assembly polls, 55 Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) level officers across Tamil Nadu have been transferred.
According to DGP J K Tripathy, new postings were ordered with the concurrence of the Election Commission of India (ECI). 27 ACs from Chennai city police belonging to Thiruvottiyur, Royapuram, Nungambakkam, Vepery, Kilpauk, Neelangarai, Selaiyur, Anna Nagar, Ashok Nagar and other areas were among those who were transferred.
Gunasekaran, who was working as the Coimbatore Railway DSP has been transferred as the Salem Railway DSP. Yasmin, who had been the Assistant Commissioner of the Southern Crime Division, Salem, has been appointed as the Coimbatore Railway DSP. Similarly, sources say that there could also be some transfer orders in the Police Department as well.
A few days ago, the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner, Sumit Sharan was transferred after complaints were registered by various political parties with the Election Commission, alleging that he was acting in favour of the ruling party. S Davidson Devasirvatham has been appointed as the Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore city, with immediate effect.
