On behalf of the Madhasarbatra Murpoku Kootani, VM Shanmugasundaram is contesting from the Coimbatore North constituency.
Coimbatore: After his exit from Tamil Manila Congress, Kovai Thangam joined with the DMK party in the presence of DMK chief MK Stalin in Salem. Today, he was spotted campaigning in favour of VM Shanmugasundaram, the DMK's candidate for Coimbatore North constituency.
On behalf of the Madhasarbatra Murpoku Kootani, VM Shanmugasundaram is contesting from the Coimbatore North constituency in the 2021 elections. He began his campaigning today in the 12, 13 and 14th wards in KK PUDUR, Saibaba Colony.
Kovai Thangam, who took part in this campaign addressed the gathering and asked them to vote for DMK. He requested the people to show their support for VM Shanmugasundaram.
In his address, Kovai Thangam also said "Saibaba Colony has a lot of traders and educated people so your support is valuable to help VM Shanmugasundaram, a humble person win this election. It is well known that he is a native of this place whereas we are unsure about the status of the other candidate from the opposition party.
"That candidate has done nothing beneficial for the South Constituency and that is why he is now contesting from here. So, I request the public to not fall for this scam," he added.
Ex-Mayor Ramasamy, Congress Committee Gayatri, 12tH ward Augustin, Dhanapal, Leela Krishnan, Kandhasami, Ward Secretary Gunasekharan and representatives from other alliance parties participated in this campaign along with the DMK members.
