Coimbatore: A training session for Election Booth Zonal Officers in Pollachi, Coimbatore. With the assembly elections set to take place on April 6th, The Election Commission earlier introduced the postal ballot facility for people above the age of 80 and physically challenged voters.
After this announcement, election officials collected the details of postal voters in the Pollachi Constituency. In the survey it was revealed that there were more than 6,000 voters who were eligible for voting by postal but only 808 voters have volunteered to vote by post.
After the completion of the survey, Pollachi Election Officer and Sub Collector Vaidhiyanathan conducted a training session for the election booth zonal officials. During the session, instructions like not to pressure postal voters to vote for a particular party.
