Rs. One crore 11 lakh confiscated by the Election Monitoring Committee due to lack of proper documents in Tirupur
Tirupur: Election commission’s flying squad confiscated Rs. 1.11 crore confiscated due to lack of proper documents in Tirupur.
Election monitoring teams and flying squads are conducting intensive vehicle checks in various parts of Tirupur as the election code of conduct is in force across Tamil Nadu.
As a part of it, while the election monitoring team was engaged in a vehicle inspection in Kulathupalayam area, it was revealed that 1 crore 11 lakh 4 thousand 204 rupees was found in the four wheeler that came through.
They said that it was from a private jewelry store and was taken to be deposited in the bank. But as there was no proper documents for the cash the Election Monitoring Committee handed over the cash to the North Tahsildar's Office.
